I've been following Kristen of Hey Paul Studios for awhile now on Instagram (@heypaul). I absolutely adore her beautiful embroidery art, and she's a huge advocate of the DIY movement in Kansas City, teaching others how to stitch with workshops, and her blog packed full of embroidery resources, and DIY's. When I saw her Eat|Drink|Stitch embroidery happy hours, I was eager to attend. She put a call out for guest bloggers on Instagram, and I jumped at the chance to take part.Kristen takes the time to go around to each table and see if attendees need help, or to teach a new stitch and offer tips. The event took place at Westport Flea Market. Delicious burgers and brews, plus embroidery, how can you go wrong?
There were adorable stitch kits on hand for purchase. Each one contained embroidery floss, a mini embroidery hoop with the "Good Vibes Only" pattern, and an adorable needle holder.
There were two patterns to choose from, each with a little KC pride. Tons of different colors of embroidery thread were available for attendees use, or they could bring their own floss and tools to work with. Such a great set up.
After taking lots of pics and enjoying a delicious burger I sat down with my stitch kit and got to work. I absolutely loved chatting with the ladies at my table, trading embroidery tips and tricks, and getting to know them too. It's always refreshing and inspiring to get together with other individuals who share the same, creative interests.
A huge thank you to Kristen for letting me take part in this fabulous event. I had such a good time, and I can't wait to attend more Eat|Drink|Stitch embroidery happy hours in the future. Pop on over to the Hey Paul Studios website, follow @heypaul on Instagram, and read the blog. Hope to see you at the next event!
