I could say a million times over how much I love my job. I feel blessed all the time to be able to run my own business, but also be creative, and work with not only amazing clients, but also other talented vendors. I've worked with Alea on several other shoots, providing custom accessories for whatever look and feel she wants to create. My pieces have traveled to Paris and Hong Kong with her, and I consider everyone of these works to be a true collaboration. She always puts together a stellar team that help her creative vision come to life. For this shoot she wanted to create a completely different look and feel than her usual style, and I think she accomplished just that. A gorgeous, magazine worthy spread that's a little bit holiday, and a whole lot fashion. She used my white feather bolero for one look, and I custom created the black and gold feather stole, and black lace antler veil just for this shoot.
I create the feather bolero below for a Paris Elopement Shoot Alea did many months ago. I still need to share it, it was published in Destination I Do Magazine, my first national publication! However the styling of this shoot gives it a whole different look and feel. On top of the gorgeous Maggie Soterro gown, and with the berry and branch crown it has an almost angelic, ethereal feel.
Alea wanted something super couture for this shoot. She sent me pictures of all the gowns, and when I saw this black peplum piece I thought a dramatic feather stole would be perfect. With lace underlay, and pops of gold, one of the biggest trends in fashion the last couple of years.
We also wanted something super dramatic, a real stand-out piece, so Alea suggested antlers, brilliant and so fitting. After some brainstorming and back and forth we came up with a black lace veil. Not only is it lighter weight than sticking some antlers on a headband, it also has a couture inspiration, and I love how it adds a slightly dark edge to these photos.
A huge thank you to Alea for once again including me in something so lovely and inspiring! Also Burnett's Boards devoted one day on the blog to each of these looks, so to see even more images head over to the blog (or click on the related posts links below).
