Ollie was sick for two days, not able to eat, acting depressed, and just not himself. However this morning I awoke to find him in his usual spot laying next to my head staring at me until I wake up. He's all better and back to his usual adorable self.
Ric Rac Roundup was last night. Thanks to all my lovely friends who made an appearance. I know it sounds cheesy but I can't even express how much all your support means. A big shout out to my sweet mama who helped me with taking orders and wrapping items. It went great, I sold lots of stuff, and got to chat with some cool new peeps. Look for an Etsy shop update today and Monday of all the new items that didn't find homes.
My display at the Roundup
Directly after the Ric Rac it was time to get my second wind and haul my cookies to the "New Moon" midnight showing at Town Center Plaza. The system they had set up was totally ridiculous and we had to wait outside for an hour in the 40 degree weather. However it was fun, and I enjoyed the movie, sans giggling and texting teens. We also got mooned, twice by a car full of high school boys as they yelled "New Moon" out the window, and spent time making fun of the 14 year olds in front of us who dressed up as characters from the movie (all the people in the movie wear normal clothes).
Waiting in line outside
My best "super excited awkward teenager" impression.
T-shirt's my sister made for us to wear.
How was the movie you may be wondering. Well let me tell you, and don't worry, no spoilers. If you're not a fan and could care less don't bother reading the nerd fest below.
"New Moon" looks like a completely different movie from "Twilight". As with most movies that are made in series the production value increases with each film, which can be both a blessing and a curse. This installment was exponentially better in both the graphics and music department, i.e. they actually shelled out some cash for CGI and the soundtrack (rather than the guitar riff laden lameness that was in the first movie). With a different director I feel like the acting was a bit more believable, however the situations that the characters are involved in are so ridiculous and emotionally over the top for this book/movie that it couldn't come off as anything but silly at times. The pace of the movie was slower than the first one, but I enjoyed this because it focused more on character development instead of just smoldering glances between Edward and Bella. The movie overall was also more visually appealing with lots of "epic" landscape shots and beautiful locations.
Major down or upside depending on how you look at it, way way way to much teenage beefcake. Upside for all the teenage girls, downside for anyone my age. I couldn't help but feel creepy staring at Taylor Lautner's bare chested hotness the whole movie. Yes he's got a rocking bod, but he's 16 for craps sake! On the other hand the new director has given the whole Cullen family a creepy new makeover including Robby Patt. I had a hard time finding Edward attractive at all in this film because of the excessive white make-up (yes more than the first one), dark under-eye circles, and creepy yellow cat eyes. And every time he was kissing Bella he looked like he was going to vomit on her both before and after. So what's a girl to do? It's either a truly undead looking vampire with an abnormally sensitive gag reflex, or a buffed out jailbait werewolf.
Despite this it was overall an enjoyable movie (better than the first), and if you're a fan I would highly recommend it. If you aren't there are are plenty of longing stares and teenage angst to make fun of, so really it's a win win situation.

3 hugs and kisses:
ollie!! i'm glad to hear he's feeling better
what an awesome display! it's super original and super fun. good job!! :)
as for new moon, i can't wait! it was my favorite out of the 4 books.
i'm kinda eager to see the yummy vampire and werewolf with no shirts on! :O! lolol :)
haha those twilight t-shirts are HILARIOUS!
did you make ollie's collar? glad he is feeling better.
so after seeing new moon on friday night - in a non hectic/spastic environment :) i have to say i think the makeup for edward was to show him being 'depressed' from not having bella around (dark circles and more white). he seemed to look a lot better at the beginning and then at the end. man how my heart swoons when he makes his romantic comments and smirks. i think i melted in my seat. i agree on the shirtless werewolves. although why was jacob so much more buff than his friends. i think one of the guys had a fupa! haha. my lil sis likes jacob, so i felt better that she was there cat calling when he was on screen. i want to see it again! cant wait for it to come out on DVD.
